Application for Admission: |
|
1. Obtaining the Admission form : |
|
The admission form is available at NYSASDRI School of Journalism & Social work, Govindpur, Dhenkanal only. The cost of admission form with prospectus is Rs1000/- (Rupees One Thousand ) only. |

2. Choosing courses to apply for : |
|
NYSASDRI School of Journalism & Social work has two Master degree programmes. |
|
a) Masters in Journalism- 2 years full time course
b) Masters in Social work- 2 years full time course |
|
|
|
3. Completing the Application Form: |
|
a) Those students who satisfy the eligibility criteria for admission into the course are to fill in the application form.
b) Students, who have appeared the qualifying examinations and the result thereof is awaited, they can apply provisionally to attend the admission process. However it will be treated as their own risk of applying prior to receive the result of qualifying examination.
c) The student has to fill the application form in His/her own hand writing in black ink and signing the undertaking.
d) The instructions in the application form are self-explanatory. The students are to follow the instructions strictly.
e) The student has to furnish the email address clearly in the application form as it will be used by the NSJS-Admission unit for all communication related to admission.
f) The applicants are required to submit the following documents with the application form. They have to enclose the photo copies of the documents with self-attestation and produce the original documents for verification at the time of admission.

g) Once the application form is submitted to NSJS, no request for changing the particulars will be entertained at any circumstances. |

4. Submitting the Application Form : |
|
Duly filled in Application form together with photographs and other relevant documents of educational qualification should be submitted/sent to the following address either in person or by REGISTERED POST.

5. Offer of Admission : |
|
a) An email will be sent to the student intimating the announcement of the result in admission site. This will be for information only and should not be taken as official communication for selection.
b) All selected candidates will get intimation of their selection through admission letter which can be printed from Admission Micro site. Details regarding payment of fees at the time of admission, allotment of hostel and date, time and venue for commencement of the academic session will be mentioned in the admission letter.
c) Offer of admission will be valid only for the specific program opted by the candidate and academic session. Admission may be given provisionally as may be specified in the letter. The offer of admission will automatically stand cancelled if the conditions are not fulfilled by the specified time.
d) Failure to pay the fee or report for classes after payment of fee before the specified date will entail cancellation of admission. |

6. Anti-Ragging/Prevention of Sexual harassment cell : |
|
Ragging is totally banned in NYSASDRI School of Journalism & Social work (NSJS) campus including its departments, constituent units, all its premises (academic, residential, sport ground, library, canteen etc) whether located within the campus or outside and in all means of transportation of students whether public or private and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging is liable to be punished appropriately.
It is seen that the girls have outnumbered the boys in the college. The Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell, headed by a lady faculty is very vigilant and firm. All categories of students feel free in the campus and strive towards academic attainment. |

7. Eligibility of admission: |
|
+3 final year appearing students should meet minimum eligibility of securing marks as per the guide lines of Utkal University of Culture (UUC) till last qualifying semester/year and should not have any back paper. As per the UUC guideline the general & OBC category students must possess 45% of marks and SC/ST category students must possess minimum 40% of marks in +3 examination. |

8. Course Fees : |
|
Following fee structure has been devised for the two year course in Journalism & Mass Communication (MAJMC) and Social work (MSW). The students who would take admission in respective courses would have to deposit the course fee in four instalments as below mentioned phases. |

The course fee is to be collected in 4 instalments in different time periods of academic course. |

12. Application Instructions: |
|
NSJS has set high standards for the students who desire to be admitted into MSW/MAJMC programmes. The candidates are expected of having superior leadership qualities, communication and interpersonal skills, commitment, problem-solving ability, value driven mindset, professionalism, flexibility, motivation and sharp intellectual curiosity .
The prospective applicants are required to read the instructions carefully before they attempt filling up the application form. The form should be filled by the student’s own hand writing with clear and legible writing. The students must sign the undertaking part of the application. |

For all details relating to eligibility, fee structure and procedure for admission into the academic programmes, the students are to refer to Post graduate courses of the admission prospectus.
The students are advised to keep a photocopy of the complete application from.
Incorrectly filled, incomplete, unsigned and forms received after due date will be rejected and form cost shall be not refunded.
In one admission year a student can not apply more than once for the same programme.
The NYSASDRI SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM AND SOCIAL WORK does not take any responsibility for the loss of any material in post/transit. |

13. Terms and condition for admission |
|
a. Non-Liability: prospectus and application from and all other admission correspondence will be sent by post/courier. NSJS is not responsible for postal/courier delays for loss in transit.
b. Non- refund of fees: All fees once paid are not refundable for any reason whatsoever. Only security Deposit will be refunded after making necessary adjustments as required.
c. Cancellation of admission: NSJS reserves its right to cancel the admission of successful candidate under any of the following circumstances:
• If the fees is not deposited by the stipulated date.
• If the candidate does not join the particular programme by the stipulated date even though the fee has been deposited.
• If the candidate fails to furnish the proof of the stipulated minimum qualification .
• If any instance of donation /unfair means is found after admission.
• If any of the document(s) submitted by the student to NSJS is found to be forged , fabricated or false during the period of study . In such case the student’s admission shall be cancelled immediately and fees shall be forfeited
d. In case a student completes the course and obtains the degree on the basis of documents which may found to be forged , fabricated or false, at any point of time, the degree shall be cancelled/ recalled.
e. Right of Alteration/Modification:
• NSJS reserves its right to alter or modify the structure of any of the programs to attain the objective of excellence.
• NSJS reserves its right to change the provided fee structure.
• NSJS reserves its right to modify, alter and/or include any other terms and conditions that may be deemed fit in the interest of institution.
f. Jurisdiction: Any dispute pertaining to admission , or any matter as a student or alumnus of NSJS shall be subjected to the jurisdiction of the Dhenkanal court only.
g. Limitation clause: No dispute shall be raised after the expiry of 30 days from the date on which the process of admission and/or selection is completed.
h. Student Agreement clause: The student has to put his/ her agreement on the following clauses as mentioned below.
• I shall immediately inform the NSJS in writing if there is any change to the information I have provide in this application.
• I authorize the NSJS to issue details provided in this application form to any agency in the event of a verification or other statutory requirements
• I am fully aware and accept the responsibility for all expenses towards my education and living while studying in the NSJS.
• I agree to abide by the rules ,regulations and other requirements as applicable. All successful candidates shall be bound by the above mentioned Terms & Conditions of NSJS. |
